Police have arrested a Waterloo man in connection with an armed standoff at his Walnut neighborhood apartment that closed off parts of the area for hours on Wednesday afternoon and evening .

70-year old Gregory Nelson was arrested Thursday for being a felon in possession of a firearm, intimidation with a weapon and assault on a peace officer.

His bond at the Black Hawk County Jail was set at $200,000.
