Two More Arrested for Saturday Night Shooting in Waterloo

Waterloo Police have arrested two more people in connection with a Saturday night shooting that sent a 72-year old man to the hospital.

26-year old SUV owner and backseat passenger Marquez Martin of Waterloo was arrested Sunday on a number of charges.  Yesterday(Mon), authorities arrested 28-year old Charles Brown of Waterloo on charges of willful injury causing serious injury, going armed, intimidation with a weapon, carrying weapons, interference while armed, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators also arrested 17-year old Paris Wilder yesterday(Mon) on two of those counts, and he was charged as an adult.

Witnesses reported gunfire in the 300 block of Crescent Place about 10 o’clock Saturday night, and one of the bullets struck Willie Outlaw Sr. in the left leg, breaking his femur.  He was taken to the hospital.

A patrol officer on Broadway Street noticed the SUV traveling without lights moments after the shooting and stopped the vehicle.  Brown was holding a rifle when he emerged from the passenger seat and he took off on foot, tossing the weapon behind a home on Center Street.  When authorities found the gun, it was missing its serial number and didn’t have any ammunition.
