Singles Play Troubles The Panthers

PEORIA, Ill. — The University of Northern Iowa lost another close match today against the Bradley Braves, 4-3.

Gisela Kemper and Sydney Wolfe teamed up to defeat Ariel Dechler and Aimee Manfredo, 6-3. Eve Small and Savanna Hunt defeated Alexa Brandt and Malini Wijesinghe at the No. 3 doubles, 6-3.

Jieke Stroobant and Astrid Santos would fall 6-3 to Ashley Thai and Natalia Barbery at No. 1 doubles.

In the No. 3 singles spot, Kemper would have the only Panthers victory defeat Brandt, 6-4, 7-6 (5).

Stroobant played all three sets against Dechler before falling 3-6, 6-3, 0-6. Santos would fall to Barbery 4-6, 2-6 in the No. 2 singles. Wolfe fell to Wijesinghe at No. 4 singles 0-6, 2-6. Small would go the distance against Manfredo, before falling 6-3, 1-6, 5-6.

The Panthers return to action April 22 and 23, hosting Southern Illinois and Evansville.
