Iowa This Week, a weekly public affairs program produced by the KXEL news department, offers a variety of people and organizations the opportunity to reach the public, making them aware of special services and programs available to them. Iowa This Week focuses on the issues of concern in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls metropolitan area — education, public safety, government services, economic development, agriculture, etc.

♦ Always include a contact person and their phone number.
♦ Make sure that person knows they are the contact person and can speak
eloquently about the organization or event.
♦ Keep it short — who, what, when, where, and why the event/meeting is
being held. Pronunciations are appreciated.
♦ Check for grammatical and spelling errors.

Public Service Announcements:
Radio stations are licensed to operate in the public interest — that includes informing the community of services available to them. KXEL airs scores of public service announcements (PSA's) covering a wide array of issues, organizations and events.
KXEL has some guidelines to follow when it comes to submitting PSA's — especially those for dated events. We ask that you submit it at least two (2) weeks prior to the event. Be sure to include the date, location, hours, admission charge (if any), entertainment, who benefits from the function, etc.
Formats accepted: written copy, professionally-produced reel-to-reels at 7.5 inches per second (ips), cassettes, CDs, or mp3s. Mail your PSA's to:
