Education: Waterloo Central High School, Class of '79; broadcasting degree from Brown College, '81; University of Northern Iowa, BA '91 (my three brothers also earned degrees from UNI - my own graduation being the biggest surprise)
Favorite Thing(s) About the Cedar Valley: It's home! I love the parks, the trails, My Waterloo Days and the Sturgis Falls Celebration.
Astrological Sign: Gemini
Favorite Food: Specifically, it's Shrimp Alfredo and a baked potato (w/butter and sour cream!) Generally, anything Italian! Favorite restaurant would have to be The Brown Bottle (any location).
Favorite Movie: Citizen Kane (it redefined movie-making)
Favorite TV Show: My current favorite is NCIS. I Tivo several others and watch when I can. My all-time favorites are WKRP in Cincinnati and Seinfeld. I also love The Food Network.
Favorite Actor/Actress: I can't decide. My favorite actors are Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson and Tom Hanks. My favorite actresses are Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon and the Cedar Valley's own Annabeth Gish.
Favorite Book: If I have to pick one, Pure Drivel by Steve Martin. P.J. O'Rourke is my favorite writer. I also like Hunter S. Thompson (RIP).
In My Spare Time I: love to cook, watch movies, golf, go to sporting events (UNI and Iowa State), follow by beloved Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees, and spend time with friends and family. |
