The identity of a Waterloo man who was shot last Friday afternoon and later died, has been revealed by his family. 37-year old Frederick…some knew him as “Dewayne,”…Webber, was a father of three.

Waterloo police say he was shot Friday in the 100 block of Center Street and that he, and a second man who was also shot, drove a black SUV to a home in the 1200 block of Ackermant Street to get help. Both victims were taken to the hospital. The second man’s name hasn’t been released and police have not announced any arrests in connection with the shooting.

In Cedar Rapids, at least one person was shot last(Sun) night around 9 o’clock on 15th Street Northeast, near 1st Avenue. The as-yet unnamed victim, reportedly a 16-year old boy, was treated at a local hospital and released.

About two hours earlier, someone fired shots and hit a vehicle in the 400 block of 16th Street Northeast in Cedar Rapids, and a few minutes after 10 last(Sun) night, witnesses say two men came out of an alley firing guns in the same vicinity. There were no reports of any injuries in that incident either.
