24 Years and Out for CF School Board's Kenyon
0 0

Veteran Cedar Falls School Board member Jim Kenyon announced last(Mon) night that he’s leaving his seat, mid-term. Kenyon says he’ll remain on the board until a new member is elected in September and takes his place. He made the announcement publicly, so other candidates can file nominating petitions by the July 10th deadline. Cedar Falls district voters will also decide this fall on the full, 4-year terms of Joyce Coil, Susan Lantz and Doug Shaw. Kenyon's term will be for two years.

In other business at last(Mon) night’s meeting, the board approved 2 1/2%- and 2.85% raises, respectively, for two district employee groups, 86 non-bargaining staff and 20 administrators. Both groups will have to contribute more to their health insurance premiums.

The board agreed to buy 825 Samsung Chromebook computers from a Cedar Rapids provider for a little over $168,000…and approved a $68,000 contract with a Cedar Falls firm to relocate two portable classrooms from Orchard Hill to North Cedar Elementary.
