Neenah, Menasha approve new fire truck

Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue will be able to replace its ladder truck.

The city councils in both cities voted unanimously to buy a demo truck from Pierce Manufacturing. It's going to cost $785,000.

The current truck has broken down four times this year, because of electrical problems, and Chief Al Auxier says that was a concern for firefighters.

The department was scheduled to buy a new truck next year, and Auxier says they're saving $175,000 by getting the demo truck.

Menasha's city council was one vote shy of approving the deal last week, but members decided to reconsider the proposal.
