Police detain juvenile, seize possible explosives

Authorities in Webster City detained a juvenile and seized material suspected of being an explosive device.

Webster City police detained the juvenile Sunday after being called to a home for a disturbance.  The juvenile, whose name wasn't released, was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.  He hasn't been charged with any crime.

The Iowa State Fire Marshal's office took the apparent explosive material and planned to dispose of it.

The Webster City Fire Department also responded to the home.
