Authorities investigating G.B. high school fire

Green Bay fire officials say they know the early morning fire at Prebble High School started in the gym, but they're still trying to find what caused it.

Battalion Chief Rob Goplin says firefighters saw smoke coming from the gym when they arrived around 1:45 a.m.  He says heavy smoke made it hard to find the fire.

A fire department official says they won't have damage estimate until at least next week.

The gym has extensive fire damage while the rest of the school has smoke damage.

Green Bay school district officials say a restoration company is already at the school, and it should be ready to open for the first day of school...on September second. Summer school students are being moved to other schools.
