Supreme Court upholds collective bargaining law

The state Supreme Court upheld the state collective bargaining law today.

That law stripped nearly all of the collective bargaining rights from most public union workers, in 2011. The challenge brought by the Madison teachers union and Milwaukee public workers is the last major court case for the controversial law.

Republican Senator Rob Cowles of Allouez voted for the change. He says it's helped local governments take control of their finances.

He says the changes helped the state save billions of dollars. Cowles says he's relieved that the issue is now settled.
