PolyFlex breaks ground in Kaukauna

A plastics company is building a new manufacturing plant in Kaukauna, and local leaders took part in a groundbreaking ceremony today.

PolyFlex plans to add about 40 jobs in the area.

President Bill Lechner says they produce several recognizable items, including orange construction barrels, wheels for garbage and recycling bins, and lids for dumpsters.

PolyFlex is headquartered in Walworth. Lechner says they decided to expand into the Fox Cities, because of the quality of the workforce and lower utility rates.

The company is the first one that the Fox Cities Regional Partnership helped bring to the area.

Lechner says they should be ready to open by the end of the year.
