2-day benefit set for Walmart shooting victim

There's a two-day benefit this weekend to help the victim of last summer's shooting at the Walmart in Neenah.

Sharon Goffard was working as a cashier when she was shot, and she had to undergo a number of surgeries.

The benefit starts at 10 a.m. tomorrow, at Headliners Bar and Grill, east of Neenah.

Crista Schmidli of Headliners is one of the organizers, and she says Goffard is still undergoing treatment, and she can't work. She says the proceeds from the benefit will help Goffard with her living expenses.

There's a traveling pool tournament tomorrow, along with dart and fooseball tournaments. The Presidents are playing at 9:30 p.m. tomorrow.

On Sunday, there's a silent auction, basket raffles, and a variety of games and prizes. Road Trip will play at 4 p.m.

The suspect in Goffard's shooting was a co-worker. The criminal case against 47-year-old Justine Boyd is on hold, while she receives treatment at a mental health facility.
