Waterloo church completes $350,000 renovation

The Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Waterloo has completed a $350,000 renovation that restores some historic aspects of the church.

Officials say the church, which was built in 1901, will have new pews and other updates like more accessibility for disabled people.

Parishioners have been worshipping in a downstairs room during the renovations, which have been underway for about seven weeks.

Another update included the uncovering and restoration of mosaic tile aisles between the pews up to the altar.

Rev. David Ambrosy, the church's pastor, says a capital campaign will be conducted within the parish to pay for the renovations.  The space will be completed for weekend services.
