Labor leader doesn't like 7-day work week bill

Two state lawmakers are proposing a bill that would let employees volunteer to work seven days in a row and a local labor leader is raising some concerns.

The Republican authors say it would bring the state in-line with federal law and give workers a way to make extra money.

Fox Valley Area Labor Council President Mark Westphal says he's concerned that some companies could pressure people to volunteer. He says under current law, certain workers can already put in extended hours.

Westphal says the exemptions under the current law are for industries like food processing, and corrections, because people are on the job around the clock.
