Appleton schools holding referendum hearing

There's a referendum on next month's ballot, in the Appleton school district, and people can check out of the schools, tonight.

The $25-million referendum for maintenance and technology upgrades includes remodeling projects in the science and technical education areas at East high school. Superintendent Lee Allinger says they're holding an informational meeting tonight, to show the public the current facilities, and what improvements would be made.

Allinger says the science labs haven't been redone, since the school opened in 1966.

Tonight's meeting starts at 6 p.m. There will be two more public meetings, including next Tuesday, January 21, at Appleton West high school. The third one will be on January 27, at Madison middle school.
