Appleton 4K program off to a good start

The Appleton school district joined 10 others this year, in adding four-year-old kindergarten programs.

State officials say 93 percent of all districts in the state now offer some form of 4K.

Suzette Preston is Appleton's 4K director. She says parents are reporting good progress with their children, and they'll be well prepared for school next year.

Preston says they're holding open houses this week, for registration for next year.

The De Pere school district also added a 4K program this year.
