Saturday night is the major fundraiser by the Lt. Dan Band for wounded soldier and Cedar Falls native, Taylor Morris. Taylor lost parts of all four limbs in a bomb blast in Afghanistan just over a year ago and continues his rehad at Walter Reed in Maryland. He and his girlfriend, Danielle, are planning to return to Cedar Falls next year to live. Due to the severe injuries, there are several special needs for their home.

Actor, Gary Sinise, has a foundation and a band--Lt. Dan Band--that plays across the country on a limited schedule each year to raise awareness of the needs and sacrifice by our wounded warriors and to raise money to help their civilian living situations. Gary selected Taylor Morris' story to benefit from a performance by the band to raise money for a Smart House that he and Danielle can move into next year. The band is playing at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls tomorrow night at 7; tickets available at the door.

Irish Fest weekend in Waterloo starts this afternoon at 4 with the parade and step dancers at 4:30.

The Nasty Food Bug--cyclospora--mystery may be solved!. This could be the final daily update necessary for this really touch, dibilitating illness.
