Arrest made in Cedar Rapids stabbing
Cedar Rapids police have arrested the man who they say stabbed a 72-year-old man multiple times this weekend.
An investigation led police to 51-year-old Theodore Gathercole II. He is charged with attempted murder, first-degree robbery and willful injury. Police Sergeant Christy Hamblin would not say what led police to Gathercole.
Hamblin says Frederick Rottmiller suffered from multiple potentially life-threatening stab wounds for up to six hours before he was found by a passerby.
