  • The Diplomats – 3:00-5:00pm
  • Stackhouse – 5:30pm-8:30pm
  • The Purple Experience featuring Marshall Charloff – 9:00pm-11:00pm

The second stage will be located at the RiverLoop Amphitheater. The line-ups are:

  • Prone to Jones – 5:00pm-7:00pm
  • Kevin Burt – 7:30pm-9:00pm

The event is free and open to the public. The festival boundaries will be between Highway 63 and West 4th Street, and Washington Street and Cedar River. Entrances will be at Jefferson and W 4th street, as well as Commercial Street and West 2nd Street.  Streets will be closed within this area.

The theme “A Waterloo Experience” serves as a double meaning – it speaks to the experience RAGBRAI riders will have while staying in Waterloo as well as a reference to the artist Prince – which is the overarching theme of the overnight stop in Waterloo. The Purple Experience will be the headliner.

Tavis Hall, Executive Director of Experience Waterloo says “The theme highlights what we are excited to showcase to RAGBRAI riders and the community, a true

Waterloo Experience. In the 11 years since riders came to stay with us, we’ve added some amazing and interesting entertainment and plaza spaces to downtown Waterloo, with new businesses and community attractions.  We are working with city & state officials, local businesses,  local public health & safety officials and the community at large to execute a RAGBRAI host event that we can all be proud of. We are excited to host riders on July 28th as well as welcoming these folks back to experience Waterloo year round.”

Hall adds that this is one of the state’s largest tourism events. “RAGBRAI is a great Iowa tradition that we look forward to welcoming back to Waterloo. This annual ride presents Waterloo with an excellent opportunity to showcase our progress since last hosting in 2010. We are excited to help rally our community after the pandemic as we all strive to highlight Waterloo as a great experience for riders from across the state, nation & globe.”

It is estimated that the economic impact of the RAGBRAI overnight stops is approximately $3,000,000 per day according to one University of Iowa study.
