West Branch HS Principal Resigns Four Days Before Classes Resume

The West Branch Board of Education has accepted the resignation of the high school’s principal, Shannon Bucknell.

The superintendent of the school district, Marty Jimmerson sent documents outlining Bucknell has been accused of allowing a hostile workplace and learning environment, including not responding to complaints by female students and making inappropriate comments to female staff.

A settlement agreement means his resignation is effective immediately and the district agreed to pay him for 22 days of vacation leave pay.

The West Branch middle school principal will serve as principal for grades 5-12 and the district is looking for an interim assistant grades 5-12 principal for the year.

West Branch students go back to class this Friday.
