Open House Scheduled in Marion for Police Chief Finalists

The City of Marion plans to hold a public reception for residents to meet four candidates being considered for the new police chief position.

Former police chief Joseph McHale resigned in June for a new job in the public sector. During the search for a new chief, Lieutenant Chad Nott took over as the department’s interim chief.

City leaders say the of the four candidates, two are internal and two are external.

A public reception will be help in the atrium at Marion City Hall at 1225 6th Avenue from 4:30-6 p.m. on Thursday, September 5.

City leaders say residents are encouraged to attend and ask the candidates questions.
