The Waterloo City Council is in-session this(Fri) afternoon, interviewing candidates for the soon-to-be-vacant City Attorney position. Veteran City Attorney Dave Zellhoefer told council members several months ago that he’ll be retiring by August 1st.
The four names on an interview schedule distributed by the city are:
*Micah Hawker Boehnke
*And James Moriarty
Current City Attorney Dave Zellhoefer, whose father also served at one time as Waterloo’s legal counsel, says three of the four candidates being looked at now requested their interviews be conducted in closed session, while the 4th did not. Mayor Quentin Hart says no decision will be made today(Fri) on a selection. In his words, “not even close.”
