Black Hawk County’s Board of Supervisors agreed unanimously yesterday(Tues) to build a bigger, new road maintenance building at 5502 South Raymond Road.
The total cost is about $350,000 and Matt Construction of Sumner will put up the shell for $249,000. The board last week awarded contracts to Hudson Hardware for mechanical and plumbing work, and to Ryan’s Electrical Services for wiring.
The old, single-bay pole building has already been torn down and the new, triple-bay structure is expected to be finished this fall.
On another front at this week’s meeting, the Supervisors voted unanimously to continue chipping in $25,000 a year to the Urban County Coalition, a lobbying group that also includes Linn, Dubuque, Johnson and Scott Counties.
