Deere Foundation and Waterloo Operations Hand Food Bank a Big Check

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank has announced that it’s partnering with the John Deere Foundation and John Deere Waterloo Operations, to the tune of $1.5-million.

The money will be used for resources, to increase capacity, develop & train staff, and to update infrastructure.  The food bank says a donation of this size will allow it to improve quality and quantity, when it comes to helping feed the 16 counties it serves.

Northeast Iowa Food Bank Executive Director Barb Prather said in a news release that these kinds of opportunities are rare and exciting, and put us one step closer to its goal to “Close the Meal Gap,” by the year 2025.
