CF City Council Approves “Small Cell” Guidelines

The Cedar Falls City Council talked about so-called “small cells,” during its Committee-of-the-Whole meeting Monday.  Afterwards, during the regular meeting, the council unanimously approved design guidelines and a $500 application fee for the low-powered, cellular radio access relays, which are mounted in certain areas and used to increase cell-phone network capacity and quality.   City Administrator Ron Gaines says to a great degree, local governments’ hands are tied by federal & state law and recent court rulings.

The council also recognized the high school Rocket Club and boys’ basketball team for their recent achievements.
