Waterloo Council to Take 3rd Vote on New Airport Hangar

The Waterloo City Council is scheduled to give final approval tonight(Mon) to a site plan, lease, and tax incentives for a nearly-13,000 square foot hangar southwest of the airport terminal.   Even though there have been concerns raised about the distance between the new hangar and an existing one, the council has twice voted unanimously to approve the proposal.

The Waterloo council tonight(Mon) will also hold a public hearing on the proposed spending of $1.6-million in Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds, most of which is earmarked for home “rehab,” projects…and members will consider a development agreement with Fusion Investments, which would give the company up to $1.2-million in tax rebates as it develops a 10-lot commercial subdivision on the east side of Highway-63,  just north of Highway-20.

Tonight’s(Mon) regular meeting begins at 5:30, but will be preceded by a 4:45 work session to discuss selling city properties.
