Waterloo, Cedar Falls School Boards to Seek State Funding for Drop-Out Prevention Programs

The Waterloo and Cedar Falls School Boards both meet  tonight(Mon) and each will consider applying to the state for funding to prevent at-risk students from dropping out.

Waterloo has a dozen programs it hopes to fund, while Cedar Falls is proposing seven.

On other fronts, the Waterloo board will hold a public hearing on the sale or disposal of a house at 5643 Kimball Avenue, south of Orange Elementary School and will be asked to approve the resignation of Bunger Middle School Principal Rachel Savage, effective July 1st.  She’s leaving to become Superintendent of the Moline-Coal Valley, Illinois School District.

In Cedar Falls, the school board will also hold a public hearing on relocating a portable classroom from Orchard Hill Elementary School to Peet Junior High…and members will vote on a proposal to store another portable building at a Cedar Falls Public Works Department facility.
