A matchup with Stony Brook led to a rocky evening and a 73-63 loss for the UNI Panther men’s basketball team Saturday at the McLeod Center.
AJ Green and Wyatt Lohaus made nine of the Panthers’ 11 field goals in the opening half, finishing with 13 and nine points after 20 minutes of play.
The second half saw the Panther offense stall at times; UNI had stretches of three and five minutes without recording any points which led to a Stony Brook ten-point lead with ten minutes remaining in the game.
Lohaus continued to produce in the second half; for the night, he led the Panthers with 23 points. Green ended one rebound shy of a double-double, contributing 16 points and nine rebounds.
The 5-8 Panthers now head into their Missouri Valley Conference schedule, traveling to Peoria, Illinois for a showdown with the Braves of Bradley University at 7 pm on Wednesday.
