The UNI Panthers had no difficulty with the Wartburg Knights Sunday during 110-69 exhibition victory at the McLeod Center.
UNI wasted little time getting out to a big lead, outscoring the Knights 22-8 in the first five minutes of the game and going to halftime ahead by 37. Miles Wentzien scored a team-high 13 points at the half, going 3-4 from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line.
The second half was closer with just a four-point spread between the teams, but UNI still cruised to victory on the strength of their fast start. Wyatt Lohaus led the team in scoring with 18 points and seven assists in 23 minutes on the court. Guard Spencer Haldeman shot 50% from the field for 16 points and led the team in rebounds with 8. Freshman A.J. Green also had 16.
UNI’s final exhibition will be at 7 pm on Thursday, November 1, in the McLeod Center against Upper Iowa University.
