The UNI Panther soccer team won the first of four consecutive conference soccer matches Friday on the road at Indiana State, 2-1.
UNI opened the scoring early as Jordyn Rolli converted a rebound in the 16th minute. Later in the half, Claire Netten connected with Brynell Yount on a long pass in the 31st minute of play. Yount dribbled inside the box, scoring from five yards away.
In the second half, Indiana State’s Katie Wells led an offensive attack and found the net in the 51st minute.
However, Jami Reichenberger made eight saves for the win in cold and rainy conditions.
The Panthers finish their home schedule this week with Drake and Valparaiso coming to the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex. The regular season concludes October 25th at Illinois State.
