VB: Last Perfect MVC Team

The UNI Panther volleyball team remains undefeated in Missouri Valley Conference play, after topping the Braves of Bradley University 22-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-13 on Saturday and sweeping the Illinois State Redbirds 25-19, 26-24, 25-12 Friday.

Karlie Taylor provided the offensive spark throughout the Bradley match, recording 23 kills and a service ace for a team-leading 24 points. Jaydlin Seehase and Piper Thomas each recorded double digit kills.

Saturday was a special night for Kendyl Sorge who moved into second place all-time in career digs at UNI with 2,003. Needing only 17 digs to enter the exclusive 2,000 dig club, Sorge’s 20 pushed her past Amie Held’s 2,002 and now only trails Ellie Blankenship and her 2,656 career digs.

Friday, Taylor led the way for the panthers, recording a team high 18 kills.

Monday the Panthers take on the Purple Aces of Evansville.
