Christhian Rivera will be arraigned in Poweshiek County Court this Wednesday.
The 24-year old former dairy farm worker and accused killer is charged with kidnapping and stabbing to death 20-year old Brooklyn woman Mollie Tibbetts, who disappeared one evening in mid-July while she was out running.
Police say Rivera led them to Tibbetts’ body August 21st in a cornfield near Guernsey, but told them he doesn’t remember killing her. An autopsy showed that she died of multiple stab wounds.
Rivera is still in the county jail in Montezuma, unable to post a $5-million, cash-only, bond.
His attorneys have been granted $5,000 to hire a private investigator on his behalf.
