The UNI Panther volleyball team swept all three matches during a weekend tournament in Muncie, Indiana, winning nine of 11 sets versus their three opponents.
Early Friday, after two sets of back-and-forth battle against host Ball State, the Panthers rolled in the final two sets to earn the 25-21, 20-25, 25-13, 25-19 win.
Katie Busswitz had a breakout match with 13 kills versus just three errors for a .417 attack percentage.
The second match of the day was a much closer affair. UNI defeated Indiana 25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23. Every set was a three-point margin or closer.
The Panthers hit .319 in the first set and hit .205 for the match. Karlie Taylor notched 24 kills, the second highest total of the season.
UNI capped a perfect weekend with a Saturday sweep of North Dakota State 25-16, 25-22, 25-15.
Three Panther players were named to the All-Tournament Team led by Taylor who was named the tournament MVP. She had 55 kills, hitting a hair over .200 for the tournament. She also notched 20 digs, a solo block and three service aces.
Piper Thomas was also named to the All-Tournament team notching 42 kills. Kendyl Sorge was the final Panther honoree; the senior libero had 46 digs to pace the Panther defense. She averaged 4.18 digs per set.
