Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa to be flown at half-staff from sunrise tomorrow(July 12) to sunset on Friday(July 13), in honor of former Iowa Governor Robert Ray.
Ray passed away at the age of 89 last Sunday.
“Governor Ray’s legacy lives on in the millions of people that he impacted as a tremendous statesman for Iowa and our nation,” Gov. Reynolds said. “His civility, courage and common-sense governing set a high standard for those who followed.”
Flags will be half-staff on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state.
Businesses, counties, municipalities, schools and individuals are encouraged to also fly the flag at half-staff on those days.
